Edith Schomas, 95, of Ottawa, died early Saturday morning, June 25, 2011 at the Ottawa Pavilion.

Edith was born May 28, 1916 in Ottawa to Michael and Ethel (Macomber) Looney. She graduated from Ottawa Township High School. She married Benedict L. Schomas in Ottawa on June 14, 1945. He died October 15, 1990. She was a member of St. Columba Church. She worked for McLellans for 28 years.

She is survived by two sisters, Jeanette “Jean” Schott of Ottawa and Ginger (John) Hill of Livermore, CA; seven nieces, Peggy and Patricia White, Mary Lou Fowler, Joan Looney Weigers, Nancy Short, Darlene and Pauline Halm; two nephews, Larry White and James Schott.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benedict; five sisters, Margaret Looney, Theresa Schomas, Mary Fowler, Catherine White and H. Jane Raub; and two brothers, Michael Looney, Jr. and Patrick J. Looney.
