Eddie R. Freestone, 79, Anderson, died August 28, 2009 at St. Johns Health System. He was born April 24, 1930 in Anderson and was a lifelong resident. He had worked for the United States Postal Service for 34 years, retiring in 1986. Eddie was a member of the Eagles Lodge, where he had served as past Worthy President, AARP, Grandview Golf Course, National Association of Letter Carriers and several bowling leagues.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married October 10, 1949, June Hancock Freestone; sons, Eddie W. Karen Freestone of Lewisville, IN and Russell E. L. Jean Freestone of Warren, IN; grandchildren, Jennifer Mike Johnson, Michelle Mike Perea, Stacy Danny Jackson, Joey Keri Cunningham, Angelleen Cunningham, Erick Herrberg, Chad Herrberg; and twelve great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. & Martha Lund Freestone, stepmother, Hazel Petit Freestone; and a sister, Phyllis Christman.
