Earl “Mark” Sprague, 51, of Standish died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Bay Medical Center. Mark was born December 27, 1957 to Earl and Mary (Brick) Sprague in Midland where he was raised and educated; graduating from Dow High School in 1975.
Mark lived in Houston, Texas for 15 years, returning to Midland in 1993. He worked at Maple Hill Nursery for several years before moving to Standish where he semi retired due to health issues.
Mark was an outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt, enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was happiest when helping others, spending time with his family and friends, and playing with his dogs, Hooch and Harley.
On July 18, 2008, in Standish, Mark married Melissa Dew.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa; sons, Josh (Jennifer) Sprague of Houston, Texas and Matthew at home; granddaughters, Emily and Alexis; parents, Earl and Mary Sprague of Midland; brother, Chris (Jayne) Sprague of Freeland; sister, Anita (Ken) Kloha of Midland; nieces and nephew, Michelle, Brandon and Jordan; 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew. He is also survived by his parents in law, Ray and Judy Dew of Standish; sisters in law, Mindy and Amanda and their families; and cherished friends, Adam, Bethany and Kevin.
