Mr. Earl Franklin Cater of Sharpsburg completed his earthly journey of 83 years on October 23, 2014. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 14, 1931 and was one of six children born to the late Roni and Ruth Howard Cater. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Ronald and Jerry Cater. He was an electrical engineer prior to retirement. Mr. Cater was a member of Heatherwood Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Doris Toler Cater; his children, Michael (and Cheryl) Cater, Tony Cater, Gary Earl Cater, Alisa Darlene Cater and Darren Lee (and Angie) Cater. Surviving siblings include Monte (and Jan) Cater, Virginia Harmon, Wayne (and Emily) Cater. There are 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
