Earl Neumann, 73, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday morning, September 16, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.

Earl was born June 13, 1939 in Highland to Everett and Mary (Hatton) Neumann. He married Mary (Kurtz) Montroy Neumann on February 15, 2007 in Ottawa. Earl’s many interests and hobbies included various projects which he proudly entered in the Sandwich and Bond County Fairs. He was a consistent blue ribbon winner. He was also well known for his breeding and handling of Irish Water Spaniels. Earl loved people and befriended everyone. He was always known for his outgoing joke telling personality. Earl was never known to sit still too long. He enjoyed traveling and living in various places throughout the United States. Earl loved his family and especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted and loving husband.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; four children, Alice (Jim) Ohlendorf of Ottawa, Cindie (John) Lewis of Ottawa, Michael (Patricia) Neumann of Ottawa and Robert (Ellie) Neumann of Lithia Springs, Georgia; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenn (Kathy) Neumann of Missouri; five sisters, Ruth Ann Hunt of Bunker Hill, IL, Mary Jane Roller of Sarasota, FL, Nancy Beck of Leesburg, Missouri, Esther (Lloyd) Bentley of Arcadia, FL and Martha Frieburg of Saybrook, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Kevin Lee Sellers.
