Earl D. Cox, 84, of South Windsor, formerly of Manchester, husband of the late Joanne (Tyrrell) Cox, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, September 16, 2016. Earl was born in Caribou, Maine, December 18, 1931, son of the late Herbert Cox and Elizabeth Keirstead and had resided in Manchester for most of his life. He was employed for 30 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford retiring as a foreman and was also the former owner of the Towne House Pizza, Manchester. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn Women’s Basketball. He was also a former duckpin bowler, enjoyed golfing, an avid gardener, but most of all he loved being with his family and friends. Earl is survived by his loving family Lisa Hatfield and her husband Kenny of Manchester, Sharon Cox and her fiancé Gavin Kelty of South Windsor, Diane Bousfield and her husband Jeff of Glastonbury, Andrew Cox and his wife Kimberly of Wethersfield, seven grandchildren, Shannon, Jake, Al, Kristen, Addison, Carissa, Alicia, three great grandchildren, Brayden, Adam and Lacey, his loving companion of many years, Virginia Bousfield and his precious kitty, Minnie.
