Earl Carter Smith, 85, passed on April 15, 2024. He was the son of the late W. Melvin and Annie Sue Smith. His brother, Melvin Smith, Jr. and his wife Leola also preceded him in death.Earl is survived by his wife of 47 years, Glenda Bradshaw Smith; two nieces, Arlene Smith, and Lisa S.Tarkington and her husband, Steve, their children and a grandchild. Also, a special cousin, Judy.Earl retired from the Newport News Shipyard. In his retirement years, he worked at R.W. Baker Co.
