Earl Blair Burdess

Earl Blair Burdess, 76, left this world on July 11, 2016 due to a long-term illness. He was born on December 29, 1939 to William Burdess and Agnes Elizabeth Rees in Rock Springs, Wyoming. When he was six years old, his family moved to Ogden, Utah, where they remained to build a large, loving family.
Blair proudly served in the Army for two years. Eight years later he met the love of his life, Colleen Carter Hansen on a blind date. They were later married on April 14, 1972 in Plain City, Utah.
In 1998, he retired from HAFB after 33 years. Blair enjoyed writing, gardening, taxidermy and tinkering in his garage in his spare time. He went hunting, fishing, and camping with family every opportunity he could. He loved his family dearly and carried a special bond with each of them. He adored spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed countless hours of pushing them in his handcrafted tire swings.
Blair is survived by his wife, Colleen; children, Art (Diane) Hansen, Duane (Brandi) Burdess, Amy (Chris) Burdess Draper; brother, Wayne (Stephanie) Burdess; grandchildren, Alison, Ashlee, Ian, Brogan and great grandchildren, Nora, Eliza, and Kyron. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Cheryl Manning and Joan Hansen; sister, Ladonna Opeikens; brother-in-law, Joe Opheikens; brother, James (Bill) Burdess and sister-in-law, Hazel Burdess.
Special thanks to the staff of CNS Hospice Care especially Lea, Nicole, Jessica and Dr. Scott Moulton DO.
