Earl A. Schory, age 89, of Salem, died at 11:10 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Salem Community Hospital. He was born May 4, 1924 in New Waterford, Ohio, a son of the late Samuel and Stella (Spicer) Shipley Schory. Before his retirement, he had worked at Paxson Machine as an erector and previously worked at the former Mullins Manufacturing and Lehman Thorp. Earl was an active member of the Steel Workers Union, Salem Eagles #316 and Independent Hose Club. His wife, Inez, F. (Myers) Schory, whom he married October 28, 1944, preceded him in death October 10, 2003. A daughter, Janice F. “Boots” Matelski, a sister, Mary Frank and a stepbrother, Bubb Shipley also preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Attorney Earl A. “Bud” Schory II of Salem; a brother, William Schory of Beloit; a granddaughter, Brenda Jane Perevosnik of Parma, Ohio; grandson, Harry (Judy) Lloyd IV of Conway, South Carolina; and son-in-law, Robert Matelski of Sagamore Hills, Ohio.
