Earl Alexander Perrigen was born on November 14, 2001 to Earl D. Perrigen Jr. and Shylene L. Brooks in Kokomo, Indiana.
Alex attended elementary school in Kokomo, Indianapolis and Lafayette, Indiana. He moved to Georgia in 2012, where he attended school in Monroe and Winder, Georgia. He graduated in 2020 with honors from Apalachee High School. He recently was employed at FedEx in Indianapolis, Indiana.
In school, Alex was a natural leader. He was in the BETA Club, Dance Team and Drama Club where he played multiple leads in the school plays. He ran track and played football. He also received Student of the Month. Alex has always had a love for music and dancing.
Alex has been a bright and shining light in this world since he was a small boy. He has touched a magnitude of people with his kind demeanor, infectious smile and warm presence. He has always befriended the friendless, sparked hope for the hopeless, and found the silver lining in any situation. If you had the chance to be in the room with him, you were guaranteed to get a gut busting laugh and leave feeling loved. He was the human manifestation of love.
Alex departed this life on February 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Leroy William, paternal grandmother: Patricia Perrigen, and cousin: D’iaje Reeves.
He is survived by his father: Earl D. Perrigen Jr.; mother: Shylene Brooks (Mylon Betts); sisters: Shariah Perrigen of Atlanta, GA, Amanda Balentine, Jasmine Balentine, Ta’Tiana Greer and An’Mara Bell all of Kokomo, IN; brothers: Jalen Balentine, Travon Greer Sr., Zavier Bell, and Larry Gibson all of Kokomo, IN; maternal grandmother: Darlene Wilson (Robert) of Kokomo and paternal grandfather: Earl D. Perrigen Sr. of California; bonus mom: Melissa Reece; godmother: Angela Woods; love of his life: Deja Nesbitt; aunts: Sheila Williams, Earlonda Perrigen, Simona Swain (Robert) and Ciara Perrigen; nieces: Azaria, Brinley, and Layla; nephews: Ayden, Travon Jr. and Samir; uncles: Leroy Brooks (Levi) of California, Angelo Williams and Dewayne Mingo; cousins: Corbin, Rodney, Cierra, Josiah, Dewayne, Chazymon, Indya and Aysia; best cousins: Rayhaan Henderson, Iyanna Henderson, Rickey Nix, Amagine Nix and Antwon Abbott and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins,extended family and friends.
