Dwight Hobert Raymond, 71 of New Smyrna Beach, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Halifax Hospital, Port Orange, Florida after a brief illness.
Dwight was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, November 4, 1949 to Lester and Frances Raymond and moved to Daytona Beach with his parents in 1958 from Hershey, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Ormond Beach and graduated from Seabreeze High School and attended Daytona Beach Community College. He worked many years with Bert Faircloth Roofing before going to work for Kirkland Sod in New Smyrna Beach for more than 30 years, before retiring. He was married to his wife for 49 years and has two children, daughter Lisa (Kevin) Thomas, New Smyrna Beach and son Chris (Jenna) Raymond of Mims, Florida and two grandchildren, Addyson and Micah.
Dwight was predeceased by his father Lester, mother Frances and sister Diane. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, of New Smyrna Beach.
Dwight was an animal lover, especially dogs and horses.
Dwight was loved deeply by his many friends and family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a true friend and would always lend a hand to anyone in need. He kept busy, wouldn’t sit still and was always on the go.
