Dwight Demaree of Rushville, IL passed away peacefully at his home in Littleton on September 24, 2020.  He was 90 years old, born in Rushville on August 27, 1930. He is survived by his children, Bob Demaree of Tolono, Diane Stocker of Jacksonville, Leah Wiseman of Jacksonville, and stepson Aaron Janes of Arenzville.

In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren Alex Wiseman, Ryan Martin, and Seth Martin, and various great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He first married Una Jean (Unger) Demaree with whom he had his children Bob and Diane, and later married Linda (Lovekamp) Demaree, with whom he had his daughter Leah. Linda survives in Littleton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Nell Sevier Demaree; and his sister and brothers, Margaret Jackson, Raymond Demaree, Bill Demaree, and his twin brother Daniel Demaree.

Mr. Demaree graduated from Rushville High School in 1948, then served in the Korean War, aspiring to be like his older brother Bill, who served in World War II. Dwight graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1958. He was a pharmacist for over 40 years, many of those years spent at Jack Stites Pharmacy in Macomb, where he was well respected by his work colleagues and customers.

Dwight was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Fighting Illini any chance he got, and he enjoyed seeing his beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series in 2016. He loved golf, which he enjoyed until his health would not allow him to golf anymore. Dwight loved his friends and family. Though he struggled with depression in his later years, when he was younger, he loved to have fun with family and friends, and he loved to travel. His later years were beset with difficulty; however, he was blessed with a peaceful passing and release from his worries. He has finally found peace and quiet after many years of suffering.
