Dwight A. Williams, age 93, of DeMotte, passed away April 30, 2021 at home with his loving and caring wife by his side.

Dwight was born on March 6, 1928 in Portland, Maine, the son of Allen and Eleanor (Knowles) Williams. He graduated from Parker High School in Chicago, IL. Then, on June 17, 1953, he married Evangeline R. Heron, who survives. Dwight served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He started and served as owner & operator of D & E Transport, Inc., a trucking company he managed for 13 years. After retiring from the trucking sector, he worked at the Merrillville & Rensselaer Wal-Mart stores, where he helped customers with their painting needs in the paint department. Dwight was a member of the Risen Community Church in DeMotte. He enjoyed collecting and finding rare coins. He was also, quite a handy-man and was skillful at fixing and repairing almost anything. He especially enjoyed helping others in whatever capacity he could.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Evangeline; children, Steven (Julie) Williams of Lowell, IN, Nannette (Bruce) Sparenberg of Remington, IN, Deborah Williams of Rensselaer, and Charlotte (Scott) Siedelmann of Dyer, IN. Twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Geoffrey, two brothers and two sisters.
