Duriene Duncan Glenn 1933 – 2018
A beautiful, kind, full of inner-strength, southern belle named Duriene Duncan Glenn, just shy of her 85th birthday, went to meet her Lord and Savior face to face on July 24, 2018. Born on August 12, 1933, the 4th of 6 children, to Everett and Tessie (Murphy) Duncan in Moultrie, Georgia, God designed her life to be tailor-made for Christian ministry and homemaking.
Duriene was an elementary Sunday School teacher for years.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories a husband, Dr. Collins Glenn, who claims her as his most valuable asset. Often she accompanied him on gospel mission trips abroad, preaching assignments, and Bible Land tours. He describes her influence on his ministry as the “the wind beneath his wings.” Also a daughter, Anita (Mike) Dunn; a son, Pastor Randall (Kristalina) Glenn; 7 grandchildren: Luke, Caleb, & Michaela (fiancé, Christian) Dunn and Dakota, Clayton (fiancé, Kirsten), Karsyn (Tyler) Knoblett, and Mya Grace Glenn; 3 brothers-in-law, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Duriene was dedicated to home, family, and motherhood. Being a Biblical mother was her goal.
Duriene’s joys and triumphs stand out like mountain peaks to inspire and encourage and guide followers as she moves on into the new experiences of eternity in heaven. She testified that the valley of shadows did not cause fear because Jesus Christ, her friend went through the valley 2,000 years ago and drove away all the gloom and promised that He would never leave nor forsake her.
One of her last wishes was that all her family and friends may have the same peace, joy, and assurance of salvation that come only through knowing the Lord Jesus Christ. Duriene bids us all farewell – not good bye – wishing that God’s perfect peace and love be our possession now and forever.
