Duane Williams, age 81, of Humboldt passed away on July 25, 2021 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Duane Morris Williams, the son of Morris Laverne and Margaret (Gruis) Williams, was born on January 29, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa. Duane was united in marriage with Dorothy J. Foreman in August 1962. Duane worked as a tow truck operator, a tire mechanic, a welder for a few businesses in the Humboldt area that included JetCo, where he retired. Duane’s passion was spending time with family, the petting zoo on his acreage, and fishing. When he moved back to town, Duane also enjoyed watching and feeding the many birds and squirrels at his home. Duane never knew a stranger. He loved meeting new people and making friends. He was also quick with a joke or story. Left to cherish Duane’s memory are his daughters, Marj (John) Bensley of Sac City, Gail (Dave) Maach of Humboldt, Sharon Williams of Boone and Diane Williams (fiance’ Kent) of Humboldt; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy (Amber) Williams, Cameron Boynton (Nora), Emma Boynton, Hunter Giese, Nicole (Josh) Logan and J.R. Bensley; 7 great granddaughters, Athena Williams, Ava Boynton, Averie, Scarlett and Emma Logan, Lilli and Liara Bensley; and a brother, Dick Williams of Blairsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughters, Trish and Melissa; a sister, Delores Koob; and brothers, Roger, Delbert and Bill Williams.
