Duane E. Corfman, age 86, formerly of 400 S. Sycamore Avenue, Sycamore, Ohio, died at 9:35 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, Upper Sandusky. He was born on August 17, 1933 in Sycamore, Ohio to Everett “Ducky” and Lula (Hablitzel) Corfman. He married Irene M. (Strait) Corfman on March 26, 1954 and she preceded him in death on May 18, 2020.
Surviving are the following children: Twila Lacey, Lucas, Ohio, Kathy (Robert) Kilbride, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Randy Corfman, Leesburg, Indiana, and Brian Corfman, Carey, Ohio. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one sister, Rita (Dennis) Van Hoosier, Bucyrus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
Duane worked for National Lime and Stone, Bucyrus Plant, for 37 years. He also was an employee of Heritage Cooperative in McCutchenville for ten years. In his earlier years he did sheep shearing and did a lot of roofing in the area.
Duane was a social member of Sycamore American Legion Post #250, member of Upper Sandusky Moose Lodge #1093, Upper Sandusky Amvets Post 777, and Upper Sandusky Eagles.
For hobbies, he loved to bowl, having been in leagues at Bowlmor Lanes, Sycamore, Ohio and Wyandot Lanes, Upper Sandusky. He also bowled in the Moose Lodge Travel League. He was a member of the Sycamore Horseshoe Club, loved to fish, do woodworking, and put out a large garden.
