Dr. Stephen Charles Hilton of Kingwood, WV died on the morning of July 29th, 2016, age 65, as the result of an automobile accident.

Steve was born November 18, 1950 in Key West, FL, a son of the late Harry Marsh and Estella Mae (Gleason) Hilton.

“Doc Hilton,” as he was affectionately known in his community, graduated from First Colonial High School in Virginia Beach, VA. He went on to earn Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Microbiology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. He completed his education at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA.
Ultimately establishing his roots in Kingwood, WV, Dr. Hilton practiced Optometry for a total of 36 years. He was also a member of the Preston Lodge #90 AF & AM.

Doc Hilton was a loving father whom always put his two daughters, first. He frequented the Preston County Country Club where he enjoyed playing poker, gin, and golf in his spare time. In his later years, he rarely left his favorite recliner parked in front of Fox News and the Bill O’ Reilly show where he enjoyed the sound of his own conservative commentary. Aside from shooting targets & empty milk jugs, cutting his grass, and lounging around his quiet cabin nestled on a steep country hill away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, he rarely complained of anything. He lived his life as a very simple man. He was always the first to crack a joke and encompassed a humble character that he carried effortlessly.
