Dr. Lauro S. Geronimo, 84, of Bethlehem, passed away on Tueday, June 3, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the loving husband of Nita C. (Canlas) Geronimo. Born in Plaridel, Bulacan, Philippines, he was the son of the late Severo and Salud (Sayo) Geronimo. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. He moved to the United States in 1957 and began a long and dedicated career practicing Emergency, Family and Pediatric Medicine in Massachusetts, Maryland and New York before settling in the Lehigh Valley. Locally, he managed the ER at a number of hospitals, including Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg and St. Lukes, and had his own family practice. He was a faithful member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church in Bethlehem. He will be remembered by his grateful family, friends, colleagues and three generations of patients as compassionate, good humored, smart, loyal, hardworking, well respected, and extremely generous. Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife, Nita and their oldest daughter, Laurie J. Geronimo, her husband, Adam Salacuse and their daughters, Maiya Azzadine and Violetta Lauren of Leverett, MA, and, youngest daughter Michele L. Geronimo, her husband, Donald Goeser and their daughter and son, Ruby Lorelei and Eiji Tomas of Corona Del Mar, CA; 3 sisters, Anicia Geronimo, Illuminada Martin and Felicisima Cruz and a brother, Benjamin Geronimo in the Philippines. Hermogenes and Apolonario Geronimo died earlier.
