Dr. Ray F. Reppert, 88, of Okoboji, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at his home in Okoboji. He was born on February 3, 1920, in West Point, Nebraska, to Earl and Freida Reppert.

Ray grew up in West Point, attending elementary school there and graduating from high school in 1938. He then attended Iowa State University Veterinary School, graduating in 1943. Following his graduation, Ray opened a veterinary practice in Pender, Nebraska, which was interrupted that same year when he was drafted as a Second Lieutenant in the Veterinary Corps of the United States Army.

He served in the military until the war ended in 1945.Three months before his discharge, Ray was united in marriage to Norma Coppock on September 2, 1945, at the Methodist Church in Ankeny, Iowa, and to this marriage two sons were born.

Following their marriage the couple returned to Pender, where Ray practiced Veterinarian Medicine for the next forty-seven years. During that time, Ray and Norma also made frequent visits to their condo on the lake in Okoboji, and in the winter, a condo at Fort Myers Beach in Florida. In 1992, at the time of Ray&rsquo
