Dr. Paul Tobin Maginnis, 70, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North MS in Oxford, MS…m. 6:00 p.m. Born in Baltimore, MD, to the late Paul Tobin PT Maginnis and Emily Maginnis Robishaw, Dr. Maginnis was a retired professor of Computer Science at the University of Mississippi. He was a member of the Catholic Church in Menominee, MI, was a sailing enthusiast and enjoyed riding motorcylces. An avid fan of all movies, he particularly loved action movies and cartoons and was a devotee of musical theater. He was the founder of Sair Technologies, Gunsmanship, Inc., owner of Tobix, associate member at Wave Technologies and an associate staff member at Global Technology Systerms (GTS). Additionally, he was a member of the Oxford Amateur Radio Club, National Rifle Association, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and was a certified home inspector. Dr. Maginnis worked briefly at the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences prior to becoming a tenured Professor of Computer Science where he was employed for 36 years.
