Dr. Ora D. Edwards, 66, of Anderson, passed away on October 3, 2017 at her residence.

She was born on November 4, 1950 in Blytheville, Arkansas and resided all of her life in Anderson. She retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors, and in later years, she received her Doctorate of Theology. She was a devout member of St. Mark Church of God in Christ.

She was active in her community, and enjoyed racquetball, fishing, bowling, and traveling. In her retirement, she enjoyed doing yard work, she found the love of knitting, and volunteered at both St. Vincent’s Anderson and St. John’s Hospital.

Ora is survived by her loving son, Mack (Machelle) Edwards, II; siblings, Pearline (Samuel) King, Dorothy J. McNeill, Diana K. Harris, Debra A. (Kevin) Taylor, Julia D. Lewis, Terri L. (Gene) Davis, Arthur Lewis, Jr., Robert L. (Mary) Lewis, Leonard (Hazel) Lewis, Frederick Lewis, Timothy G. Lewis; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cinquea (Dwight), Mack III, Sulliman, and Stryker; great-grandchild, Xavier; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Willie B. Lewis; father, Arthur Lewis, Sr.; sisters, Shirley Hobson, Bertha M. Cotton; granddaughter, Ebony N. Edwards.
