Dr. Nicholas Bruce, 79, of Woodbury died Sunday January 24, 2010 at Wingate Nursing Home in Highland, New York. He was the widower of Ethel (Mocker) Bruce.
Dr. Bruce was born September 18, 1930 in New York City a son of the late Michael and Rose (Schwarz) Brushanowski. He attended the New York Hospital School of Radiography from 1948 – 1950 before graduating from National Chiropractic College. He completed a one year internship at Spears Chiropractic Hospital in Denver, CO before joining the US Army Medical Corp at Fort Devens, Massachusetts and Camp Drum, New York. Dr. Bruce practiced in Waterbury and Woodbury in 1957 and 1958 until 1990 when he retired from Waterbury. He continued to work in Woodbury until 1999 when he fully retired.
Dr. Bruce is survived by his nieces Roberta DeMaio of Highland, NY and Margaret Sheehan of Mahopac, NY, an aunt, Anna Schwarz of NYC, and two cousins, Frances Pinchiaroli of Fort Meyers, FL, and Anna Weber of NYC.
