Dr. Michael J. Duggin, age 79, devoted husband, loving father, highly respected scientist and loyal friend, was embraced by the Lord and taken to eternal life on Tuesday morning December 20th, 2016, after an extended illness. Michael retired this month as a Senior Scientist for the Air Force Research Labs at Kirtland Air Force Base, where he had worked since 2001. Before moving to Albuquerque, he lived in Baldwinsville, N.Y. and was a Professor of Physics at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, N.Y. Michael’s interests ranged from scenic drives to fine wines. He was a talented photographer and a collector of cameras, fine writing instruments, knives and recorded classical music. Michael was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Above all, Michael was known for his generosity toward loved ones and friends. Michael is survived by his wife Viviana; sons, John and Blake of Melbourne, Australia; and stepchildren, Maribel Mason, Yvar Saucedo, and Grace Turley. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren. Also touching Michael’s life were his close friends, Father Mike Shea, Fred and Jody Doyle, and Mike and Hilda Butcher of Albuquerque, and Chuck and Bu Robinov of Colorado Springs, CO. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Walter J.H. and Wynn Duggin of Ipswich, England.
