Giordano 1924~2021Doctor Leonard F Giordano, a retired dentist who practiced in Havertown, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on May 3, 2021, after a rich and blessed life of almost 97 years. Leonard was originally from South Philadelphia, PA and later raised his family in Broomall, Pennsylvania. He had 2 sons and 3 daughters with his wife of 44 years.Leonard had numerous residences “by the sea”. His most recent and longest residence after becoming a permanent “snowbird” to Florida was Nettles Island, Jensen Beach, Florida. His former home was Stone Harbor, NJ. He spent his youth and most of his adult life between the shores of Townsends Inlet, Sea Isle City, and Stone Harbor, NJ., along with PA. His connection to the sea and swimming was unmistakable from a young age. He was a Sea Isle City lifeguard between 1945 and 1951, while attending and graduating from St Joseph’s College in 1947, and later graduating from Temple University Dental school in 1951. Prior, his college education began by studying 6 months at West Chester State College before being drafted into the Army for WW 11 at 18 years of age. He was stationed in North Africa as a Medic and Interrupter for the German and Italian prisoners of war between 1942 and 1945. It was this medical exposure that led him to pursue his Dental was a member of the Alpha Chrom Kapa Eosolon Honor Society, The American Dental Society and a 4th degree Knights of Columbus, along with being a proud member of the American Legion.”Lenny” had a passion for fishing, boating and a love of the sea along with his great desire to travel. His need for warm, seaside climates attracted him to exotic destinations. When not in the water, you could often find him in his garage either doing his carpentry, tasting his newest barrel of homemade Italian wine or cooking in his second kitchen. Leonard was loved by many, always making people laugh with his infectious sense of humor!His wife of 44 years, Madeline Sczerbicky Giordano, and cherished son, Frank Giordano, predeceased is survived by his beloved children; Gordon Giordano of Stuart, FL, Carolynn Giordano of Jensen Beach, FL, Christine Giordano Schoch of Boxborough, MA and Lauren & Gerard Gormley of Cape May Court House, NJ, along with his adoring grandchildren; Ashley & David Harvey, Loren & Claire Schoch, Kelsea Wiernicki & Taylor Green, Kristopher Wiernicki & Katie Mull, Gabrielle Gormley, Sara Schoch, Dylan Gormely and Quintin Gormley, his great grandchildren; Sophie Harvey and Lucie Wiernicki, and his dear sister in law, Madelin Lovett Giordano and many devoted nieces and nephews.
