Dr. Dante “Chip” Chiappinelli passed on peacefully at Hospice on August 31, 2009 at age 88, after a long illness. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Quirino and Ida (Scamporrino) Chiappinelli. Dr. Chiappinelli was predeceased by his brothers Bartolo E. Chiappinelli, Emanuele Q. Chiappinelli and Quirino “Bill” Chiappinelli. Dr. Chiappinelli’s interests in his younger days included skiing, ice skating and track and field. An avid tennis player until the age of 82. Dr. Chiappinelli enjoyed life, travelling to almost every state and to over dozen countries.
