Dr. Charles B.
He was born December 3, 1920 in Chicago, the son of Clyde and Gertrude (Brown) Van Gorder.
Charles completed his undergraduate degree at University of Illinois where he continued on and graduated from the Medical School in 1945. He served his internship at Rush University Hospital where he met his wife, Elaine (Atkinson). Dr. Van Gorder served his country as a physician in the US Army. Following this time in the military, he was on staff at Community Hospital in Geneva and later had a private family practice in Geneva until he retired in 1990. Dr. Van Gorder was known and loved by the many local families he served and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his son Dr. Mark Van Gorder of Chicago.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Carol (Atkinson) Van Gorder, parents, sons David Charles and Dr. Paul Norman and his sister Annette Vail.
