Dr. CAROL DIANE EPSTEIN, Ph.D., 72, was a nurse, educator, researcher, and dog lover. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 16, 1948. She resided in White Plains, NY, and was a tenured professor at Pace University. She made significant contributions to research and academics during her fifty-year career in the nursing field. In addition to dedicating a majority of her time to her students, she was regularly published in national research journals and received multiple national grants for her research in the intensive care and palliative care fields. She passed away from natural causes on August 29, 2020.
A devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend, Carol is survived by her daughter Brenna and son-in-law Daniel, son Isaac and daughter-in-law Liu Xia, grandchildren Miller, Maelle, and Morgan, sister Debbie and brother-in-law Sean, niece Kathleen, dog Penny, dear friends Chris and Jocelyn, and their dog Wren, and other close relatives and friends.
