Douglas Walter Bryan, Sr. age 55, of the Turtle Clan, of Pennington, MN began his spiritual journey on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.  Doug was born on June 13, 1964 in Cass Lake the son of Russell Bryan, Sr. and Helen (Charwood) Bryan-Johnson.

Doug grew up and attended school in S. Lake.  Later he would graduate from the Tribal College with two different degrees and during that time he was art student of the year.  Doug was a very gifted artist.  He was also very fluent in the Ojibwe Language and loved to teach people.  Doug liked to work on cars and helping friends and family fix their own car problems.  He enjoyed working on home projects and cooking for the family for big holidays.  He was always trying new recipes.  Doug liked spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  In his earlier years he was very happy to hunt with his dad, Russell as they would track deer they would get.  Doug liked to garden and plant his tomatoes.  He would travel a lot and take numerous trips.  Some of his favorite times were spent ice fishing, taking walks in the woods and ricing.  Doug will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

The family that Doug joins again are his dad; Russell, brother; Darwin Bryan, and his grandparents on both sides.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his mother; Helen Bryan-Johnson, his significant other; Gloria Fineday, children; Jennifer Fineday (Bezhiganakwad Hardy), Doug Bryan, Jr. (Taneshia Drouillard), and Morgan Bryan (Matthew Carley), brothers and sisters; Russell Bryan, Jr., (Margaret Bryan), Larry Bryan, Mason Bryan, Linda Bryan and Janice Bryan, grandchildren; Tamiyah Lightfeather, Tanaya Stickney, CayLeigh Fineday, Maatoska Hardy, Doug Bryan III, and Braylen Bryan, numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
