Douglas “Slim†Taylor Barbour, Jr., 56, of 250 Dry Pond Hwy., Claudville, VA died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his home. He was born on August 9, 1955 in Critz, VA to Shirley Via Barbour of Burlington, NC and the late Douglas Taylor Barbour. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Barbour. He was a self-employed auto repair mechanic. Surviving in addition to his mother are his daughters, Beverly Covey of Woodlawn, VA and Devonne Dickerson of Hillsville, VA; son, Douglas Barbour of Claudville, VA; sister, Tammy Moore of Burlington, NC; brother, Allen Barbour of Five Forks, VA and grandchildren, Montana Hodges, Jack Barbour, Adam King, Logan Dickerson, Matthew Pistory, Taylor Pistory, Matthew Covey, Nathan Covey, Dakota Covey and Hannah Covey.
