Douglas “Doug” Gene Rose, 74 of Zuni, VA passed away on April 17, 2024 at Maryview Hospital. He was a son of the late, Guy Walter Rose and Mary Ellen Phillips Rose.He is survived by his wife Donna Parsons Rose; children, Bethany Rose (Daniel Brewer), Judy McPherson (Joey Sartin), Barry Tant (Christina), Daniel Tant, Melissa Felton; nine grandchildren; brother, David Rose (Sheila) and sisters, Carole Pieart and Lori Livesay.Doug retired after 38 years from Union Camp and International Paper. He was a member of Suffolk Rescue Squad for 8 years. He was active for sixty years in the Boy Scouts of America serving as assistant scout master of Troop 41. Doug’s passion for the outdoors also included being an avid turkey and deer hunter. He was a faithful and dedicated part time employee with R.W. Baker Co.
