Doug passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice on April 24, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on February 18, 1943 and spent his entire life here.

Doug was a very honest man who loved his family and friends so dearly! He was employed at J&J Locksmiths for 33 years. He was an avid race fan all his life—he was especially involved in super modified, sprint car, and midget racing. He was a former pit steward at Kalamazoo Speedway.

He was known to all his friends as a “walking encyclopedia of racing.” He enjoyed 50 plus years traveling to several race tracks, especially the 40 years at Sandusky Speedway in Ohio. He wishes his extended racing family, the “Stickneys,” their best racing season ever in 2019. He was an active member of the Portage Eagles Aerie 3531 for 37 years and wishes to thank his Eagles family for the continued love and support.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Philo and Bernice Corwin; one brother-in-law, Norman Taylor; and one sister-in-law, Martha Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judi; two children, Doug, Jr (Brandy) and Melisa (Eric); and one granddaughter, Hannah Corwin (the love of his life). Doug loved his family dearly! Also surviving are brother-in-law, Ron Taylor; sister-in-law, Debbie (David) Rife; eight nieces and nephews; and several cousins.

He wishes to give all his love to his many friends and buddies who have been so faithful over so many years.
