Douglas E. Brewer age 56, 0f Ashland, died Wednesday November 9, 2011 at Samaritan Regional Health System. He was born in Ashland on November 21, 1954, the son of Larry and Dixie (Bendure) Brewer. Mr. Brewer was a graduate of Salem College in Salem, West Virginia where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Mr. Brewer retired after 22years from the Wellington School District where he taught Special Education. He had previously been employed with the Doddridge Co. Schools in West Virginia. After retiring he had enjoyed working part time with the Brookside Golf course. Mr. Brewer was a member of the Park Street Brethren Church, the Elk’s Lodge and the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. He was an avid Golfer and Ohio State Buckeye’s Football fan. Mr. Brewer had also been a Jr.
