Douglas “Doug†Ray Hearp 58 of 5225 Kentuck Road, Lot 12, Ringgold VA died Friday May 11, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born August 26, 1953 in Pittsylvania County to Alfred Lee Hearp, Sr. and the late Peggy Eastridge Hearp. Doug was married to Joan W. Hearp of the residence. Doug was of the Baptist faith. He worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for thirty four years. Doug was a member of URW and also was an avid racing fan. He served in the United States Army. In addition to his father and wife he is survived by one daughter; Jenny Hearp and finance Jim Hendrix of Reidsville, NC: one step-son; Donnie Womack of Danville: one sister Gena H. Bryant and husband Wayne of Greensboro, NC: one brother Alfred Lee Hearp, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Reidsville, NC: Doug is also survived by four grandchildren Mackenzie Hearp and Layland Hearp, Lauren Womack and Dalten Womack: a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and numerous friends and other relatives.
