Douglas Ralph Bentley, Logansport, 72, passed away surrounded by his family, at 10:26 p.m., on Saturday, May 19, 2018, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born on July 12, 1945, in Kokomo, he was the son of Ralph Edgar and Violet Mumaw Bentley.

On July 22, 1994, in Rochester, he was married to Kathryn Spencer Reish, who survives.

Douglas retired in 1996 after more than 30 years of employment at Delco, where he was a forklift operator.  He had also been a transport driver for Mike Anderson, and had served as Deputy Marshall in Greentown in the 1970s.

He enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, and traveling in their RV. 

Although Douglas did not serve in the United States military, he was a very patriotic man.

Also surviving are son, Steven (Stacy) Bentley, Kokomo; daughter, Annette Bentley, Kokomo; step-sons, Bill (Anne) Reish, Logansport, and David (Lori) Reish, Rochelle, Ill.; brothers, Bill (Marilyn) Tooley, James Bentley, Roger (Doris) Bentley, and Dan Bentley, all of Kokomo; eleven grandchildren and a bonus grandchild, and two great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were sisters, Lois Nall, Margaret Porter, and Barbara Lord.
