Douglas Alan Hoffmann, age 61, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, surrounded by nothing but love from his family. Doug was born in Aliquippa, PA on May 19, 1960, the son of the late Donald T. and Ellen (Dragovich) Hoffmann. Doug graduated from Portage Northern High school in 1978, and soon thereafter joined the trades, becoming a Master Plumber, acquiring countless licenses and certifications along the way. Doug owned and operated Bruce Plumbing and later joined Helmus Plumbing, where he became President, better known as “El Conquistador”.

Doug met the love of his life, Leslie (Kravets), and the two became united in marriage in 2002. They shared the love of traveling, cooking, music and entertaining family and friends, but especially held dear numerous fur babies including Toby and Tansy. Doug was able to connect with all walks of life, through his many interests, including fishing, bowling, the races, watching his favorite teams (Steelers and Red Wings), trying his luck at the casino, and playing golf; sometimes without keeping score, but always with the goal of having fun.

Doug is survived by his loving wife Leslie, son James “Jimmy” Pobocik, granddaughter Shoshanna, or as her Grandpa called her “Nanner”, sisters Carol (Ted) Malpass and Martha (Tom) Cambron; sisters-in-law Julie Mallette (Brian Sladek), Lori Alvarez, Linda Kravets, Lisa (Jim) Kneller, brothers-in-law Michael (Bonnie) Smith, Dean (Connie) Muenzer and Lloyd (Sharon) Muenzer.

Doug is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were very special to him. He was affectionately known as the fun uncle, who was full of a little mischief and lots of love. Unknowingly, Doug was often the life of the party, while never wanting to be the center of attention. Doug was preceded in death by both of his parents, our dear family friend William Bruce “Scotty” and two brothers, Tom and Keith Hoffmann.
