Dossie Mae Person McBride was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James and Cora Lee Person. She transitions to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at the age of 86 years old.
Dot as she was effectively called was a native of Eagle Springs, NC but lived in New York City for several years.
She was the mother of four children: Ernestine B. Martin (Anthony), Dakota Blue, Anthony Blue (Virginia) and Bernard Blue (Michelle) and a special niece Doris Eloise Dunn (Lee). And a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dot was a well-known mother in the Zion Grove Community and a faithful member of Zion Grove AME Zion Church. She was a prayer warrior, a pianolets, sung and played for numerous choirs, Church Leader of Leader, Missionary Society and served on the food committee. She is also famous for her cream cheesecake and known for her singing happy birthday to you on your birthday.
She was proceeded in death by the father of her children Mr. Leonard Blue of New York City. Her daughter Dakota Blue, Brothers, John Person and Jimmy Person, Sisters, Almeta Person Frazier and Alberta Richardson.
