Dorthea M. Telep passed away July 5th, 2011 at her home. Born on November 7th, 1922 in Copenhagen, Denmark, she immigrated to the United States with her parents and brother when she was two years old.
Raised and educated in New York, she later moved to New Jersey where she married and started her family. Dorthea lived in various shore towns, before moving to Jackson in 1963 with her husband, Steve Telep, Jr., who passed away in 1995. She was the mother of ten children, twenty-five grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
