Dorris Ellen Jarvis, 85, of Anderson, passed away on April 7, 2013 at Community Hospital, Anderson. She was born on September 6, 1927 in Hancock County, and resided most of her life in the Pendleton/Anderson.
Dorris graduated from Pendleton High School in 1945. On September 2, 1945, she married Marion J. Jarvis in Pendleton. She retired from Indiana Bell in 1980 after 32 years of service. She was a member of Redbud Quilt Club, American Phone Pioneers, and the CWA Union.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed quilting, crafts, and reading. Dorris is survived by her daughters, Linda Tom Faucett of Anderson and Karen Larry Jones of Anderson; sisters, Laura Belle Hudson of Anderson and Jewel Jacobs of Mississippi; grandchildren, Angela Rob Fox, Andrea Anita Barker Creamer and Nicholas Tai Jones; great-grandchildren, Ashley Fox, Aubrey Fox, Christopher Priddy, Shaun Priddy, Alivia Fox, Zane Jones and Bryce Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Marion J. Jarvis; mother, Inez Davidson; father, Elmer Davidson; son, David Jarvis; grandson, Michael; and his wife, Christina Priddy.
