Dorothy Raney, age 99, of Algona, passed away on June 14, 2020 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Dorothy Johanna Geilenfeldt, the daughter of Walter and Martha (Boetteher) Geilenfeldt, was born on September 1, 1920 in Fenton, Iowa. She graduated from Algona High School in 1939. On November 25, 1941 Dorothy was united in marriage with Willis Howard Raney at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. She had worked at Druggist Mutual in Algona doing clerical work. Dorothy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a charter member of the Irvington Homemakers. She enjoyed cooking and China painting. Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her children, Howard (Marlene) Raney and Linda (Randy) Parsons all of Algona; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson, Adam Raney; sisters, Delores Logue and Vernice Samp; and brothers, Kenneth and Harvey Geilenfeldt.
