Mrs. Dorothy Pauline Byers, of Franklin, passed away on the early afternoon of Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Otterbien-Franklin SeniorLiving. She was 96. Dorothy was born December 17, 1923 in Eckerty, Indiana, a daughter of the late Monroe and Lennie (VanWinkle) Speedy.
Dorothy attended Arsenal Technical High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1943. She was employed for several years as a clerk with American United Life Insurance Company (AUL).
She is survived by her daughters, Joan O’Conner, Karen Byers (Alan Ellstrand) and Janet (Michael) Murphy; her grandchildren, John (Roberta) O’Conner, Daniel (Amy) O’Conner, Erin (Jonathan) Duff and Kevin Ellstrand; six great-grandchildren; her sisters, Norma Jean Buford and Wanda Carr as well as several nieces and nephews.
