Dorothy McHenry, age 74, of South Bend, IN, passed away on December 23rd at her home due to complications from Leukemia.
She was born in South Bend IN on May 9, 1939, to Edward and Mildred Bogdanowicz. She was devoted to her loving husband Larry McHenry with whom she celebrated 42 years of marriage until his death in 1999.

Dorothy was an avid volunteer and gave her time and energy to The Mental Health Association and The Lupus Foundation of America. Dorothy had a great passion for life and all things social. Whether it was Notre Dame tailgating, playing cards with the gals, going to plays with her friends, hanging out with her children, or chatting about the latest episode of The Bachelor, she took absolute joy in interaction with friends and always seeing the good in everyone. Dorothy was always young at heart and had a more active social life than most of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her 3 children; daughter Terri Wilber-Mendoza (Jesse), Edward McHenry (Mandy), and Amy Geiger (Patrick). Her son Tom McHenry passed away in 1982 as well as her son-in-law Charles Wilber II in 2000. She is also survived by her 10 Grandchildren: Sara McHenry, Ashley Gerard (Greg), Tom McHenry (Lauren), Timothy McHenry, Charles Wilber, Leslie Wilber, Elizabeth Wilber, Layla Geiger, Posey Geiger, Violet Geiger. Dorothy also had 4 Great-Grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Dorothy (or Dot) was a Mother and Grandmother (or Baba or Busia) to many.
