Dorothy Jean Benbow (Nee: Howe) age 80, went to be with her husband, Albert William Benbow, Jr. on June 28, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memory, Deborah Santarsiero and son in law Frank, daughter Brenda Benbow (Jim). In addition, she leaves her four granddaughters: Jennifer Kerstetter, Jill Bearce, Tara Kerstetter, Amanda Palumbo, as well as three great-grandchildren: Camryn, Tyler, Gianna and a great niece Cindi Westcott.

Known by the name Jean, she was a familiar face to many who recognized her from working at Howard Johnson’s and Pomeroy’s as a waitress. In addition, she was employed at A&P in Willingboro and Super Fresh in Lumberton as a cashier. She touched so many lives with her kindness and positive Demeanor as well as her good sense of humor. She was blessed to meet the love of her life while serving in the United States Air Force at Otis AFB in Massachusetts.

While stationed at Otis AFB, she acted as a Nurse’s Aide in the Nursery Division of the hospital. Her main priorities were building a life with her husband and her “two girls”. She loved animals, children and taking great pride in her home. For many years, she, her husband and children enjoyed traveling together to New England and the New Jersey Shore. Many thanks to the staff at Saint Mary’s Catholic Home in Cherry Hill for their wonderful care. We extend our appreciation to all those who cared for her while in comfort care at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees. She will be dearly missed.
