Dorothy N. Cooper Roof, 91, Anderson, went home to be with the Lord on September 29, 2011 at Countryside Manor.
She was born April 1, 1920 in Indianapolis, and resided in Anderson most of her life. Dorothy was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church; Tops, Special Birthday Club, and a ladies church group at East Lynn Christian Church. She was active in youth groups and sports.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis K. Roof Juanita of Anderson and Greg Roof Lori of McKinney, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sandy Vance Robert of Anderson; grandchildren, Lori Manville Chuck, Angie Washburn Dave, Nathan Roof and Peyton Roof; great grandchildren, Connor Washburn, Noah Washburn, and Luke Washburn; nephew, Dr. Brad Cooper Koni; niece, Tristie Loyd and great nephews, Gavin Loyd and Brandon Cooper. She was loved by her family and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Roof; mother, Louise Hodel Cooper; parents, James B. & Ruth String Cooper; sister & special brother-in-law, Joan & Kenneth Levy; brother & sister-in-law, James & Coralene Cooper; and grandson, Doug Roof. Special thanks to St. John’s Hospice.
