Dorothy L. Michael 91, of Freeport, died Friday, September 26, 2008 at Freeport Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Born September 21, 1917 she was the daughter of Edwin and Anna (Vehmeier) Klaas in Freeport.
She and Howard Michael were married February 14, 1940 at the Salem Church. He died May 13, 1993. Dorothy was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and the Women’s Fellowship. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, quilting and flowers.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen (Roger) Bremmer of Shannon, Jean (Jack) VanHorn of Freeport; four grandchildren Kurt (Penny) Bremmer of Blue Grass, IA., Jody (Scott) Ireland of Plainfield, IL, Darin (Kimberly) Bremmer of Greenwood, WI., and Michael VanHorn of Freeport; three great grandchildren Kayla and Carson Bremmer both of Greenwood, WI, and A.J. Ireland of Plainfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister Gladys (Klaas) Kaney.
