Dorothy “Dot” Louise Meli (nee Horton), of Beverly, widow of the late Samuel “Blessie”Meli, and daughter of the late Amanda Harriet Dumhardt and Louis “Buck” Horton, also of Beverly, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at the age of 78 at Virtua Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Lumberton.

Dot is survived by her three children and their spouses, Yvonne and Tony Passarelli, of Delran, Wayne and Judy (Toudy) Meli, of Hainesport, and Jeffery and Gina (Mori) Meli, of Riverside, her eleven grandchildren, Brandy, Samantha (Andre) Young, Joseph, Anthony, Michael, and Dominic Meli, Cortney, Christopher and Cynthia (Frank Myers) Rickman, Robert (Meghan Becker) and Anne (Kenneth Harrison) Passarelli, her great grandchildren, Chandler Becker, Isabella and Alexander Passarelli, Franklin Myers and Tristan Meli, her sister, Lillian Wilson, of south Daytona, FL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dot had worked for the MacMillan Publishing Company and for General Home Products. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and she had participated in the Altar and Rosary Society, the church choir and bake sales. She loved to travel and take cruises with her late husband, and her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing, walking, cooking, and socializing, and she was a member of the former Rancocas Woods Sportsmen’s Club.
