Obituary of Dorothy Marie Riedlinger
RIEDLINGER, Dorothy M. of Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of Rogers City, MI, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. She was 94 years old. Dorothy M. Carter was born on March 5, 1920 in Durand, Michigan to the late Lawrence and Ruth (Peter) Carter. She married the love of her life, William A. Riedlinger in Warrensburg, MO on February 7, 1943; he preceded her in death on April 11, 1980. Dorothy had been employed at St. Mary’s Hospital as a secretary to the administrator for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Lutheran Faith. Dorothy was also a gifted and talented painter for many years. Above all, she love and cherished the times she was with her family.
Surviving are a daughter and two sons: Karen Harrington of FL, Bill Riedlinger of Freeland, and Mark Riedlinger of Beaverton; four grandchildren: Lisa (Tony) DelosSantos of FL, Sarah (Nick) Blanck of MS, Jennifer Riedlinger and her fiancé, Don Ruth of Ypsilanti, and Tracey (Jason) Day of Saginaw; three great-grandchildren: Brenden Riedlinger, Justin Riedlinger, and Angel DelosSantos; two sisters: Rosemary Trapp and Donna Matuszewski of Roger City; two daughters-in-law: Sue Riedlinger of Saginaw and Deborah Riedlinger of Midland; and a good friend, Bill Heliker of Harrison. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Riedlinger in 1951; a granddaughter, Stacey Riedlinger; and two sisters and two brothers: Georgena Goff, Lawrence “Bud” Carter, Elizabeth Miller, and Stanley Carter.
