Dorothy Mae Hullender, 86, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Born July 25, 1926 in Walker County Georgia, she was the daughter of the late David and Willie Higgins. Her devoted and loving husband, Clarence W. Hullender, Sr. preceded her in death. Dorothy had an unwavering faith in God and served her community as a Minister, Sunday School Teacher and Friend. Additionally she was a collector of Bibles, as well as a Bible scholar. Dorothy was a confidant, incredible seamstress, painter of cozy oil paintings, gardener, and talented musician who also taught piano lessons. Dorothy was an excellent cook and baker. Over the years she collected a large library of cookbooks from around the world. Dorothy was known to challenge many family members to an old fashioned game of checkers. At age 86, Dorothy attended her first professional baseball game and hot air balloon display. She is survived by her Son, Clarence W. Hullender, Jr., Rossville, GA.; Daughters, Patricia Pieczynski (Michael), Tunnel Hill, GA, Marcella Torres (David) and Cheryl Beuthel (James) Castle Rock, CO; Grandchildren, Ramona King (Robby), Dora McGinnis (Jeff), Robby Ogle (Jennifer), Adam McNelley (Bridget), Amanda Bastanchury (Michael), Angela Kohn (Art), Amber Torres and JC Beuthel. Great Grandchildren: Cory and Cortney King, Chris, Gabe and Logan Ogle, Connor McGinnis, Nick, James and Addie Kohn, Zachery and Landon Wiley, Jade Mendinghall and Jace Bastanchury; Sister, Lorena Nichols (Clarence), several nieces and nephews, and her pets, Sophie and Duke. From the era of the Great Depression to her last days during the Great Recession, God blessed her spirit, grace and love to many throughout her life.
