Dorothy M. Young, 88, passed away February 2, 2013 in Canon City, CO. She was born in Canon City on January 31, 1925 to Canie and Charlotte (Gerlach) King. Dorothy attended schools in Canon City, graduating from Canon City High School in 1943, she then attended Blair Business College in Colorado Springs. She was hired right from school to work for Burroughs Adding Machine Company in Pueblo, transferring to San Francisco in 1946. She was married to Albert V. Young in San Bruno, California on July 25, 1958. Due to Albert’s job, they moved to Englewood, CO in 1963 where she worked as a secretary for various companies for over 35 years. In 1977, she retired from Jayhawk Fibre Form in Denver, when they returned to Canon City in to care for aging parents.
