Dorothy M. Henasey (nee Leffever) age 89, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Marcella Center in Burlington Township. Dorothy was born in Yardley, PA and lived most of her life in Burlington City and remained a lifelong resident ending her final years at Marcella Center.

She worked for the Underwood Company in her early years and also for the Samuel Smith School cafeteria after retiring in the early 1970’s. She was an active member of the American Gold Star Mothers after the death of her son Harold, who was killed in Vietnam in 1968. Dorothy held many positions while she was involved including Flag Guard, Historian, Legislative Chairman, Corresponding Secretary, First Vice President and finally President of her local chapter.

She was also a parishioner of St. Paul’s Church, Parish of St. Katharine Drexel in Burlington. Daughter of the late Albert and Edith (nee Tomlinson) Leffever, she was also preceded in death by her husband Edward and her son Harold. Dorothy is survived by her children: Mary and husband Arthur Maugeri, Patrick and wife Micha Henasey, Joseph Henasey and Kathleen Henasey. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Matthew, Melanie, Michael, Michelle, Jessica and Emily as well as her three great-grandchildren: Erin, Demario and D’Lorean.
