Dorothy M. Baechle, 90, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at St. Lukes Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife the late Rudolph “Rudy” Baechle, who died in 1992. Born in Bethlehem, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Warren and Leanna (Bender) Furry. She graduated from St. Lukes School of Nursing in 1944, and after serving as a nurse in the US Army, she became a nurse at St. Lukes Hospital for many years. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, and was an avid pinochle player with several local groups. She exercised at the Bethlehem Senior Center, and she had been a volunteer in the Chamber of Commerce gift shop and at the Bethlehem Library. Survivors: daughter Judith Sipp and her husband Robert of Bethlehem; granddaughter Amanda Schoenenberger; grandson Robert Sipp, Jr.; great-granddaughters Emily and Morgen. Dorothy was predeceased by her son, David Baechle, and by her sister, Betty Frederick.
